“A Public Calamity” Panel Discussion with Ed Ayers

Date(s)

  • June 10, 2020 | 7:00 pm

As Virginia and other states plan to reopen in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Future of America’s Past looks for lessons from history with their new short “A Public Calamity.” The short examines Richmond’s response to the 1918 flu pandemic — a global health crisis that killed more than 50 million people worldwide, and more Americans than all 20th- and 21st-century wars combined.

Join us for a Facebook Live discussion on June 10th at 7:00pm as show host Ed Ayers talks with local experts about the parallels between 1918 and today.

No registration is needed to participate in this event. Simply join the Facebook Live discussion. See event website for more info. We encourage you to contribute comments and questions for the panelists.

Thanks to our partners at The Valentine and VCU Health for participating in this event.
