For an uplifting blend of familiar and new, Virginia Rep has created a one-of-a-kind holiday presentation. Led by music supervisor and curator Jason Marks and director Irene Kuykendall, the Rep’s ensemble of musical theatre all-stars presents “A Broadway Christmas.”

The performance celebrates timeless Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa songs that were composed for and performed in Broadway, Hollywood, and Virginia Rep musicals. In this format of lively entertainment, each song tells a story. Together, they warm audiences’ hearts and set their toes to tapping, while presenting fascinating backstage holiday stories of some of the most memorable theatre composers and practitioners of all time.

Each performance will feature an ensemble of regulars: Kelsey Cordrey, Emily Dandridge, Keydron Dunn, Lindy Pokorny, Lily Gast, Robert Phanord, and Gordon Graham.

Four additional artists will make guest appearances:

  • Jessi Johnson Peterson: Dec. 2 to 9
  • Bianca Bryan: Dec. 10 to 18
  • Debra Wagoner: Dec. 21 to 24
  • Katrinah Carol Lewis: Dec. 28 to Jan. 1

“A Broadway Christmas” will be performed at the Hanover Tavern stage, at one of the oldest taverns in the U.S. Reserve tickets online at Va-Rep.org. The property also hosts the Hanover Tavern Restaurant and Pub, which is independently owned and operated by the Hanover Tavern Foundation. Dining reservations can be made at (804) 537-5050 or by requesting a reservation online.

Don’t miss this rousing celebration of the season!
