Chickahominy Falls, Greater Richmond’s first 55+ agri-community, is already fostering a greater sense of community in Hanover County, even though the first residents won’t move in until early 2019.

chickahominy-falls-1“It’s been great partnering with Woodside Farms at Chickahominy Falls,” said Analise Adams, Program Director, Shalom Farms. “We feel very good about distributing their produce because we know it is grown well and grown with care.”

For Chickahominy Falls, supporting health and wellness within the community is a core value so partnering with Shalom Farms is a natural fit.

“We’re proud to see our hard work paying off,” said Roger Glover, Principal of The Crescent Group, developer of Chickahominy Falls. “Because the community is still under construction and the farm is not completely fenced in, Woodside Farms is not yet certified to distribute produce. Which is why we’re so grateful for the work Shalom Farms is doing and their ability to get hundreds of pounds of our produce to the people who need it most. It’s a wonderful example of neighbors supporting neighbors, and we look forward to supporting Shalom Farm’s mission for years to come.”

New “shoots” are sprouting up all over Chickahominy Falls as the community and farm continue to come to life. A state-of-the-art irrigation system was installed at Woodside Farms, fields were prepped and planted, the hoop house went up, and The Barn, Chicka

hominy Falls’ first signature amenity, is under roof and nearing completion. In addition, construction is about to begin on the Chickahominy Falls first two neighborhoods of detached and attached single family homes by Cornerstone Homes and StyleCraft Homes. 21 homes were sold in a single day during Chickahominy Falls’ Founders Day event this summer, and great opportunities remain to be part of Phase One of the community.
