Buford Road Pharmacy 60th Anniversary

Buford Road Pharmacy will be celebrating their 60 year Anniversary on August 25th with a BIG party and Blood Drive!!

These days it is rare for an independently owned pharmacy to last 60 years! We are so humbled and honored to be a part of Richmond’s long history along with the greats like Miller and Rhoads, Thalhimers, Ukrops, etc., and yet we are still going strong, since 1957, thanks to our community’s support!!

We want to share this special time with the community with a fun celebration of 1950’s! Go back in time with us when girls wore poodle skirts & saddle shoes, and the biggest Pop Artists were Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Coasters and everybody Rocked Around The Clock! The top shows were Gunsmoke, Lawrence Welk and American Band Stand. The days when Father Knew Best and everyone loved Lucy!!

The VA Blood Services Blood Mobile will also be here, so come by early to give blood between 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.and help us try to raise 60 units of blood for the 60 years of serving the community!! Then join us from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.to celebrate when Buford Road Pharmacy first opened our doors to serving the community back in 1957!

This event is free to the public. There will be live 50’s/60’s music, Door prizes, great food, local authors, vendors, wine tastings, anniversary cake, and so much more!! Dress up 50’s style and get an entry into the drawings for door prizes!!

We at Buford Road Pharmacy always want to give you that community feeling. We greet you by name with a warm and friendly smile. Our store is different than any other pharmacy! Besides a retail pharmacy, fantastic gift department, a very large Home Health Care Dept for prosthetic fittings, medical supplies, diabetic shoe fittings, compression stocking fittings, mastectomy and nursing bra fittings, and so much more, we also have fresh and silk flower arrangements by our own florist. We will deliver within a 50 mile radius. Our compounding dept is well known and will compound medications from either your physician OR your veterinarian. We are committed to serving our community right down to having quarterly events with retirement and rehabilitation facilities, holding a huge annual Chili Cook Off, to health fairs with health care vendors and non-profit agencies providing information on important aging topics. All these to benefit and educate our community, helping them know about companies and services available to them. We are a valuable resource to our community, and we want to let them know how much we appreciate their faith and trust in us for these past 60 years, and for many more years to come!
