Refuse becomes contemporary art in this documentary that follows artist Vik Muniz on a journey to Jardim Gramacho, one of the world’s largest landfill located just outside of Rio de Janeiro. The landfill closed in 2012. There he collaborates with a lively group of catadores to recreate photographic images that end up at a prestigious London auction house. Also, enjoy a gallery talk and tour the exhibition, Vik Muniz: Photography and the Rebirth of Wonder, at 2 p.m.
