Colonial Crimes and Punishments

Date(s)

  • June 12, 2021 | 10:00 am

Explore the connection between systems of law, justice, and punishments that existed between England and the New World colonies. Our program will conduct scaled or smaller versions of systems of law or justice in military settings, civic settings, domestic settings, and religious settings where interpreters will demonstrate the reasons for the systems and the possible outcomes. By recreating the tools, implements, or devices of punishments, visitors will gain a tactile understanding of what those consequences more closely resembled. Visitors will be able to make comparisons between those systems of that period to systems of today.
