Commonwealth’s Memorial Day Ceremony – Livestream

Date(s)

  • May 25, 2020 | 10:00 am

The Commonwealth’s 64th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be live-streamed from the Virginia War Memorial on Monday, May 25.

In keeping with current cautionary procedures in place all over the Commonwealth as a part of the COVID-19 Pandemic response, this year’s ceremony will be closed to the public but live-streamed so all may participate while maintaining appropriate social-distancing.

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. in the Shrine of Memory – 20th Century, on the War Memorial grounds. We invite you to “tune in” and help to honor and remember service and family members, friends and fellow citizens who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to America.

The ceremony will include a pre-recorded keynote address, a special tribute to SSG McLaughlin who has been lost since Memorial Day 2019, and the placing of a wreath by Virginia War Memorial staff.

Organizations who would like to place a wreath at the Memorial are invited to do so privately, any time after the ceremony through Friday, May 29. Be sure to continue observing safety guidelines regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic response.
