RICHMOND, VA. — Podium RVA invites you to our Virtual Awesome Awesome Adult Spelling Bee Happy 1.5 Hours from 5:30-7pm on Thursday, June 17, 2021 streamed virtually and joinable from anywhere via Zoom.
Podium is a nonprofit based in Richmond, VA whose mission is to empower Richmond youth to become confident and capable writers with the skills necessary to succeed in school, career and life. The Bee is a happy hour networking event that provides much-needed revenue for Podium’s after-school programs for middle and high school-aged youth across Richmond. In 2020, Podium programs reached over 330 Richmond youth thanks to the success of our previous year’s event. Proceeds this year will fund Podium’s summer and fall writing, communication, and leadership programs for children ages 10-19.
Competition details:
Compete in teams of two or three, and friends can register to watch and cheer!
After 15 lightning rounds of spelling, 1st place winners all receive ribbons and a trophy plaque to share!
Event schedule:
5:30 – 5:45pm: Welcome by Board & Event Sponsors
5:45 – 6pm: Introduction of the game and breakout into groups
6 – 6:45pm: Spelling Bee competition: Duo vs. Duo & Trio vs. Trio
6:45 – 7pm: 1st Place Awards Announcement
