Firehouse TheatreSAILDANCE is a satellite company of the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School Dance Department and an extension of Artistic Director Hank Bamberger’s Bamberger Dance Projects. The mission of the company is to provide pre-professional performing experiences to emerging artists while delivering immersive concert dance to the public.
SAILDANCE advances the principles of inclusivity and the desire to question parameters of broad social and dance spheres. Splicing experimental modes of inquiry with contemporary movement vocabularies, SAILDANCE encourages the pursuit of self-discovery through investigation of personal artistic practices and chance methodologies. SAILDANCE is always a work-in-process, forever attempting to knock down the fourth wall and dance for the world’s creative betterment.
