Stories of an Abandoned Virginia at Historic Battersea

Enjoy Historic Battersea’s lawn and hear John Plashal’s captivating backstories of the abandoned houses and buildings that he has discovered on VA’s backroads. He spent time in the communities getting to know the people. Plashal will erect a large screen on Battersea’s beautiful lawn and you will see these structures and their amazing history. Bring chairs or blanket, bring a picnic or enjoy the food truck. Iris Schwartz will play the flute during the dining time. The 251 years old neo-Palladian villa, currently under restoration will be open for tours along with walking tours of the landscape. Gates open at 6 pm, the program will be at 7:30 p.m.
