“The Eyes of Youth” Exhibit and Opening Reception

Date(s)

  • March 16, 2019 | 1:00 pm

Please join us for the opening reception of the Cultural Arts Center’s “The Eyes of Youth” exhibit on Saturday, March 16 from 1-3 pm. This unique exhibit will feature works by Henrico County students who have participated in The Center’s youth outreach programs.

Throughout the year, The Center’s youth and teen outreach programs reach across the Richmond Metro area to provide visual and performing arts experiences for young people in afterschool programs, girl scout troops, juvenile justice programs, public and private schools, and public libraries. Promoting self-confidence and self-awareness, we believe in the positive impact that the arts have in the lives of young people.

“The Eyes of Youth” exhibit features artwork created by students in three of The Center’s outreach programs: the Henrico County PAL afterschool program, the James River Juvenile Detention Center, and the Henrico County Public Schools’ summer SNAPS program.

We hope you will join us on Saturday, March 16 from 1-3pm to support and celebrate these young, emerging artists and learn more about The Center’s outreach efforts. Admission is free, refreshments will be served, and you will have the opportunity to meet many of the young artists featured in the exhibit. During this event, we will also encourage you to browse our additional onsite art galleries and gift shop. Mark your calendar to enjoy this free reception and help support the future of the arts!
