Toward the Unknown Region, Antarctica Landscapes
Date(s)
- September 20, 2018
Artist Jos Biviano’s ‘Antarctica Landscapes are Original Paintings based on Captain Robert F. Scott’s fatal Terra Nova Antarctica Expedition.
The Artist Talk begins at 6:15 pm on September 20, Thursday.
Mr. Biviano has interpreted the findings & descriptions in Captain Scott’s journal that was preserved in a time capsule into 10 original paintings that he will be discussing. Mr. Biviano’s paintings focus on both the dramatic & the sublime that Captain Scott encountered: pulsating auroras, iridescent cloud formations, luminous halos, blinding blizzards & solar aberrations. Jos has brought to life in these phenomenal paintings what Captain Scott & the others described in Antarctica. This will be both an artistic talk & a scientific talk! After opening night the show continues through October 20th & follows gallery hours.
This is a show not to miss, a first for the country!! No artist has ever interpreted Captain Scott’s Terra Nova journal into original paintings before!
