Trauma: Using the Body to Respond to the Brain

Date(s)

  • June 16, 2021 | 12:00 pm

This has been a trying year for most, if not all of us. Some have suggested that the COVID-19 pandemic is not only a medical crisis but a psychological one. We might argue that we have all experienced collective trauma or toxic stress over the past 18 months.

Come join us in a safe space, where we will define trauma and explore how the human brain and body react to trauma. We will also discuss social and behavioral responses to trauma and conclude with a presentation on select evidence-based mind-body therapies. This timely lecture will use demonstrations and videos to demystify the physiology behind trauma’s impact on the human body.

Additionally, come learn a brief mind-body intervention that can be utilized to help you regularly combat tension and stress!
