An fresh take on familiar material

Laura Ann Singh and Rosette

A multilingual vocalist, recording artist, and composer known for her “rich, expressive voice,” Laura Ann Singh has built an impressive career blending genres and traditions from the Great American Songbook to Brazilian music, as well as her work with the acclaimed bolero ensemble Miramar. She’s appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk, performed at globalFEST, and taken the stage at venues like Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center, along with major international festivals.

Join the Richmond Performing Arts Alliance on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 8:00 PM at Bob & Sally Mooney Hall, as Laura Ann Singh teams up with the Rosette String Quartet (Ellen Cockerham Riccio, Treesa Gold, Stephanie Barrett, and Kimberly Ryan) and bassist Ayça Kartari for a genre-spanning program of imaginative reinterpretations.

The performance features selections from Singh’s 2025 album Crumb of Me, which reimagines songs by women songwriters including Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Lætitia Sadier, and Joyce Moreno. With elegant string arrangements and Singh’s expressive storytelling at the center, the evening promises a thoughtful, original take on familiar material. Tickets start at $36.50.
