53rd Annual Richmond Oktoberfest

Oct. 20 to 21 at the Farm Bureau Building at Meadow Event Park, Doswell

A new location, but as always, a chance to celebrate the best of traditional, authentic German entertainment, food, music, and merch. Think bratwurst, knackwurst, and weisswurst, sauerkraut; beer from Warsteiner, Paulaner, and Bitburger; German party band, brass band, Bavarian dancers, and more.

Czech & Slovak Folklife Festival

Oct. 21, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Prince George County Regional Heritage Center, Prince George

Enjoy authentic foods (jidlo), beer (pivo), music (muszika), dancing, agricultural exhibits and kids’ activities. Learn the rich history and culture of the Czech and Slovak families who settled in the region after the Civil War. Explore the museum gallery and gift shop. FREE.
