“Remember the Ladies” Gender-Reversed Reenactment.

In this historic rendition of the Liberty or Death reenactment, women from Richmond’s theatre and film community portray nine delegates to the Second Virginia Convention. With a nod to Abigail Adams’s famed words to her husband, John Adams: “Remember the ladies.”

Indigenous People’s Day.

Presented by The Pocahontas Project, the afternoon offers information and insight into the history and culture of Virginia’s recognized Indian Tribes, with special attention to the Monacan Indian Nation. Browse Virginia Indian arts and crafts vendors and enjoy fry bread, strawberry tea, and other treats for purchase.

“UnBroken” Film Screening.

The true story of the seven Weber siblings, ages 6 to 18, who evaded capture and death and ultimately escaped Nazi Germany, relying on their youthful bravado and the kindness of strangers, following their mother’s incarceration and murder at Auschwitz. The film was directed by the daughter of the youngest Weber sibling and presented by the Virginia Holocaust Museum.

Gardenfest of Lights.

Audiences take in millions of lights across the Garden exploring the theme of The Elements: displays inspired by fire, earth, air, water, and a special “fifth” element, love. Love is the invisible energy that binds us together and fuels creativity, compassion, and connection.

Boz Scaggs.

The singer, songwriter, and guitarist, an early bandmate of Steve Miller in The Ardells and the Steve Miller Band, began his solo career in 1969. His first major album, “Silk Degrees,” peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 in 1976.
