Head on over to the American Civil War Museum Opening Day Celebration to see what they’ve got up their sleeve. For a sneak peak, here’s our write-up. Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Running: great. Running when there’s wine at the end: spectacular. That’s the philosophy behind New Kent Winery’s Uncorked Half & 5K, anyway. Not much for running? Hey, we’ll see you at the post-race soirée. Saturday, May 4 at New Kent Winery. Times vary based on activities.

Bands and brews all against the backdrop of the James? Why, naturally, it could only be Hen-ROCK-us at Henricus. Saturday, May 4 from 1-8 p.m. at Henricus Historical Park.

What’s better than arts? Arts in the Park, of course. Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Byrd Park.

Why shouldn’t your favorite child (you know, the one with four paws) have their own home? Barkitecture and Kitty Couture: a festival-slash-design-show with creative ways to make your fur babies comfy. Saturday, May 4 from 2-5 p.m. at Ardent Craft Ales.

Your Sundays just got a little brighter, y’all. And a little more entertaining. And a little more delicious. That’s because Sunday Brunch Market is back with activities, picnicking, shopping, and – oh yeah – brunch. Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Continues every first Friday of the month through November.

Get your chuckles ready, World Laughter Day is coming. Sunday, May 5 from 10-11 a.m. at Chimborazo Park and 3-4 p.m. at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
