Oh Flying Squirrels, how we’ve missed you, and your fireworks, and your giant craft beers, and your baseball players, and your silly antics. We’re so glad to have you back for Opening Night. Thursday, April 4 at 6:35 p.m. at the Diamond (where else?).

And speaking of summertime staples that Richmond loves, Southside Speedway is back, baby. AND – they’re turning 60.

Hop on a boat and see Richmond the way George Washington would have wanted you to see it: through the eyes of a Riverfront Canal Cruise. Season starts Friday, April 5 at noon and runs through October. Handicap accessible.

Hitchcock fans … beware. He’s coming to a theater near you. Hitchcock Weekend at Ashland Theatre, featuring three of his greatest: Rear Window, Vertigo, and North by Northwest. Friday, April 5 through Sunday, April 7.

The April Fools pranks are over, but the celebrations are still a-flowin’ at James River Cellars April Fools Wine Festival. Live music, shopping, food trucks, and some very tasty wines. It’ll be great. No joke. Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 from noon-5 p.m. both days.

Ever heard the Beatles with a bluegrass filter? Now’s your chance. Whiskey Rebellion: A Bluegrass Tribute to the Beatles, Monday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Firehouse Theatre.
