Slip 'N Slide on Steroids

Everyone remembers the Slip’N Slides of childhood, water-aided slides on vinyl set up on someone’s lawn. Richmond is about to see a massive modern version when Slide the City sets up June 18 on the huge hill at 10th and East Byrd streets. The touring attraction, shown here in West Palm Beach, Fla., is made of cushioned vinyl with water flowing along three side-by-side channels that are 1,000 feet long – more than three football fields laid end to end.
